About Me

This blog reflects the many hats I wear. I invite you to subscribe to it if any one of them resonates with you:

  • Technogeek—My areas of interest are predominantly database- and Web-related, with some PC and Mac thrown in for good measure.
  • Christian—I call myself a Zen Episcopalian because of my decidedly Universalist tendencies. I find I have much more in common with practicing Jews, Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists than with nonpracticing Christians.
  • Singer—I have discovered choral singing rather late in life. It started in 2004 with my church choir. In 2010 I joined Portsmouth Pro Musica for their spring performance of Carmina Burana, and now I’m hooked.
  • Network marketer—I believe network marketing is perhaps the most accessible way for the average person to generate a passive residual income. It is also extremely easy to fail. That’s why I have decided to write a book on the subject.
  • Health & nutrition coach—Are you as disturbed as I am by the increasing incidence of obesity in our society? How about living in the most overmedicated country in the history of our planet? There is a better way.

Just want to say thank you. I was having the hardest time understanding Recursive SQL. So I did a search online and I found a post on YouTube about it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AY2ztQ-khHM. Now the next thing I need to tackle is functional dependency. Thanks again.

Thank you, Moya, for your kind words. I’m delighted that you found my YouTube video. I first wrote Comprehensive SQL for DB2 way back in 1996 and it has stood the test of time. Technical education is my passion, and I love demystifying technology® for people. I wish you great success in all your endeavors.
